Had a clean, comfortable room with a flat-screen TV and kind, friendly staff. Breakfast was just a voucher for a nearby shop, which was odd.

Busy atmosphere, yet clean and comfortable stay.

the stay started off poorly with a room that was far too cold, took ages to warm up. the food was quite literally inedible, never had fish that I couldn’t cut before. amazing how they expect us to settle for this like every other guest. woudl ve been nice if they’d cared for my comfort more, honestly disappointed.

missingWrote a review on Oct 13inconvenient parking
Parking in a public car park across the street can be inconvenient, especially when the bar music gets loud and the room above it feels stuffy, making it impossible to close the window. Breakfast fell short of expectations. the limited help-yourself options lacked variety and the cleanliness was not up to par, with dirty plates piled in the sink and no staff to attend to them.

The Lion And The Lamb has a great vibe, with a cozy Standard Double Room that's equipped with a flat-screen TV, kettle, and private bathroom. The friendly staff made check-in a breeze, and the modern shower was a highlight. The location is perfect for exploring the nearby fells and the food was delicious.
The power tripped during the night.

The staff were lovely and attentive, making us feel right at home. The revamped decor gave it a fresh vibe, and the food was absolutely delicious, especially the kids’ menu! Plus, our service dog was welcomed warmly, which was a big plus for us.
My wife says that a play area for kids would be great.

I really enjoyed my stay with a cozy room and a nice range of drinks from the bar. There’s a lovely common area where you can chill and watch TV in private booths, which was a nice touch. Just a heads up, breakfast vouchers for the shop next door could use a little improvement in cleanliness. 😊

The room was clean and equipped with everything we needed, and the bed was super comfy. The bathroom facilities were good too, which made things feel more welcoming. It had a nice vibe overall. The only downside was that there weren't many places to hang clothes, just a small door handle, which was a bit annoying. the TV was mounted really high, making it hard to watch without straining your neck.

Great base for exploring the lakes!
I had a comfortable stay with a good-sized room that had a large TV and generous bathroom space. It was a perfect spot to rest after exploring nearby Wast Water and Scafell Pike. The pizza from the bar was unexpectedly delicious and a great option to refuel after a day of wandering. the breakfast arrangement could be improved as it involved getting a voucher for a local shop, which wasn't very convenient.
